OUR MISSION
Every 3 seconds, someone in the world develops dementia. As life expectancy increases worldwide, dementia has rapidly become a huge public health problem. A recent meta-analysis of population-based observational studies revealed that modifying risk factors may prevent or delay dementia by up to 40% (Moon et al., 2021). Cubes for a Cure is dedicated to reducing the risk of dementia among seniors by delivering structured workshops that teach them to solve Rubik’s Cubes. Our mission is to enhance brain health and overall well-being by combining a mental challenge with social engagement, contributing to long-term brain health and overall well-being.

WORKSHOPS
BRAIN EXERCISE
Our workshop sessions focus on teaching participants to solve Rubik’s Cubes, promoting cognitive stimulation. This is especially good for reducing the risk of developing dementia as mental exercise helps to build new brain cells and strengthen connections between them (Dementia Australia, n.d.). We aim to enhance mental agility and overall brain health.
SOCIAL ENGAGEMENT
Our workshops provide a platform for social interaction, contributing to a sense of purpose and overall well-being. One study showed social isolation was associated with a 50% increased risk of dementia (Guarnera et al., n.d.). By learning to solve a Rubik's cube people are able to join and interact with a worldwide community of cubers.
